Summarize a document with sources

Turn a report or meeting notes into an editable summary. Follow each source reference back to its document before sharing the draft.

Step by step

  1. Open Document Studio and attach the report. If the summary needs context from another file, add it to the same conversation.
  2. Ask for the key points and conclusions. Read the quoted sentences alongside their source references.
  3. Open the cited document to verify details such as dates and owners. Edit the response, then download the reviewed summary as a Word document.

A prompt to try

Summarize the key points and conclusions of these meeting notes.

What to keep in mind

In extract and template mode, summaries use sentences from your files. Free-form rewriting requires a configured model. A chat can use up to eight documents.
